Laser Cutting and Illustrator Killer Tips

Hi Guys,

Follow this link for a sample of what's possible with the laser cutter.

And this one for some tips on how to use adobe illustrator.

This one is a zipped file with the adobe illustrator template for the laser cutter in it (copied from the FBE website; intranet so must log on).

And finally, this one called the basics of laser cutting; pay special attention to the section on supplying "laser friendly cad files".

Take a look at all this stuff before next week; and remember to bring something along to cut.

Cheers

  1. Hi Russell,

Question, is there a list of programs we need to install?

  7. Laser Cutting : If you are supplying free issue goods to 5 axis laser cutters then you need to ensure that they have enough storage capacity to process the parts. For example, if you need to supply 1000 parts per week can they handle this or will you need to increase transport capacity and cost to alleviate the storage problem?
